A Breath of Fresh Air
For the health and comfort of the community, Caneland Central has recently introduced smoke-free zones at all entry points around the centre.
Providing smoke free environments protects people against passive smoking, promotes healthy behaviours and supports people who have or are trying to quit. It also works towards reducing the uptake in young people by modelling non-smoking behavior.
According to the Cancer Council*, a smoke-free environment is the only way to fully protect non-smokers from the dangers of second-hand smoke, as even small amounts of exposure to tobacco smoke can be harmful to people's health.
Caneland appreciates that some visitors will want to smoke, so we've created four designated smoking areas around the centre for the comfort of smokers. Please refer to the green highlighted sections in the map below.
